1. When are you going to spray?

2. Can I be put on a "Do Not Spray" list?

A:  The answer is "Yes"; All you need to do to complete this request is to call.

3.  When do the spray trucks spray?

A:  Under AMCD operating procedures, we treat for adult mosquitoes during peak hours (6-11 p.m. & 3-6 a.m.) when mosquitoes are primarily active and the human population is less active along with other beneficial insects such as honeybees and butterflies.

4.  Can you spray on the weekend?

A:  During the peak mosquito season, June through October, we only spray on the weekends if necessary.

5. How will BTI affect my animals?

A: BTI (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis) is a natural soil dwelling bacterium and is not harmful against non-target species (i.e. anything other than mosquito larvae).

6. Can you spray chemical on my grass?

A:  In the event your grass is a breeding site for mosquito populations, then we would treat the water in your grass or yard accordingly.

7. Why do we not hear the mosquito spray trucks anymore?

A:  Our mosquito spray trucks are equipped with new quieter machinery.

8.  What should I do if I suspect my neighbor's pool is breeding mosquitoes?

A:  In the event you suspect your neighbor's pool is stagnant and possibly a mosquito breeding site, you should file a sanitary nuisance complaint with the St. Johns County Health Department's Environmental Public Health Service Center by calling 904-823-2514.

9. Can you spray for special events?

A:  Upon request in priority order, we do spray for special events justification permitted.
